Scope and Purpose
The course will benefit the company by ensuring that the competences of the crew are aligned with their organizational goals. The company can measure critical competences and take steps to address areas of crew that needs development through the use of the officers as coaches and assessors.
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- demonstrate effective onboard training and coaching following the structured learning approach
- demonstrate proper in-service assessment of the level of competence of seafarers undergoing training onboard ships and ashore in accordance with the company standards
- identify competency domains, elements, and behavioral indicators vital for safe and efficient vessel operations
- deliver effective onboard performance appraisal in alignment with the company’s performance objectives, as well as support for developing personal skills onboard
